Nike joins forces with Lebron James, Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe and more to make a statement for equality. “If we can be equals here, we can be equals everywhere.”
The US is the most divided it has been in a very, very long time. Politics has severed the public on almost every social and political issue there, everything from human rights to foreign policy. It’s become quite clear that these topics are beginning to influence the way brands interact with consumers.
Nike is the latest to make a statement in its newest short film, “Equality,” and pulls together a roster of the most elite athletes in the world. The message behind the film is clear: Equality should have no boundaries. Like in sport, you should be defined by your actions – not your looks or beliefs.

There are so many athletes and celebrities picking one side or another in this country, and that’s not going to stop. People will continue to stand up against injustice and for what they believe to be right. Brands like Nike – which won’t speak directly against any political view or party – should continue to embrace the ideals that bring this nation together as a constant reminder that we are, indeed, equals.
