It wouldn’t be a World Cup without a Nike World Cup ad. Twenty years after the iconic Ronaldo airport advertisement, Nike releases their 2018 World Cup campaign.
Nike and the folks at Wieden & Kennedy have the ability to turn out creative work that turns the heads of audiences across the world. With a long history of stunning football campaigns, Nike does it again for the Brazil-specific work for the 2018 World Cup. The spot mixes street with Brazil’s new golden generation. From the changing rooms, to the Favelas, to that iconic airport from 20 years ago, and even FIFA–there’s a true sense of Brazilian pride.
Produced by Wieden & Kennedy São Paulo, the film celebrates the identity of Brazilian football. “When we talk about inspiration, the history of Brazil in football comes to mind,” says Daniel Paz, Senior Marketing Director at Nike Brazil, who adds: “Our challenge was to seek out references and make this energy clear. To be Brazilian is something that nobody can copy.”
